ABOUT INTO THE WOODS:
Into the Woods weaves together beloved fairy tales of wishes, choices, and consequences. The story follows a Baker and his Wife, who venture into the woods to break a Witch’s curse preventing them from having children. Along the way, they encounter classic characters like Cinderella, Jack (of beanstalk fame), Little Red Riding Hood, and Rapunzel, each perusing their own dreams.
As their stories intertwine, the characters’ desires lead to unexpected complications, revealing the darker side of “happily ever after”. With a lush score by Stephen Sondheim and witty, poignant book by James Lapine, Into the Woods explores themes of family, responsibility, and the cost of getting what you wish for.
