What We’re Looking For

Our goal is to create a warm and welcoming casting process. We are seeking four strong actors, ages 18+, with sharp comedic instincts and the ability to navigate rapid emotional escalation. All ethnicities, gender identities, and body types are encouraged to audition. All roles are open. God of Carnage relies heavily on ensemble chemistry, precision pacing, and actors who are comfortable balancing satire with grounded realism.

Veronica Novak (Female/Femme., 30s-50s. Any ethnicity)

Idealistic, articulate, and deeply concerned with morality and culture. Veronica strives to maintain civility but struggles as events spiral out of control. Requires strong comedic build and emotional stamina.

Michael Novak (Male/Masc., 30s-50s. Any ethnicity)

Veronica’s husband. Amiable and affable on the surface, but increasingly blunt and provocative as the evening unfolds. Strong dry humor and grounded realism needed.

Annette Raleigh (Female/Femme., 30s-50s. Any ethnicity)

Polished, anxious, and trying desperately to keep things contained. Her unraveling provides some of the play’s most memorable moments. Requires precise physical and emotional control.

Alan Raleigh (Male/Masc., 40s – 50s. Any ethnicity)
A sharp, distracted corporate lawyer constantly on his phone. Sardonic, detached, and unapologetically pragmatic. Needs impeccable timing and the ability to deliver biting humor with subtlety.

About God of Carnage

Winner of the 2009 Tony Award for Best Play, God of Carnage follows two sets of Brooklyn parents who meet to civilly discuss a playground altercation between their sons. What begins as a polite conversation quickly devolves into a hilariously savage and increasingly absurd battle of egos.

As wine flows and tempers flare, alliances shift and social niceties crumble, exposing the fragile veneer of modern manners. The play is fast-paced, biting, and explosively funny — a brilliant examination of parenting, marriage, class, and the primal instincts we pretend we’ve outgrown.
