The Laramie Project
Presented by High Tide Theatrical in partnership with PFLAG Springfield/SWMO
High Tide Theatrical’s 2026 production of The Laramie Project has officially concluded. Thank you to everyone who joined us for this powerful and important piece of documentary theatre.
Developed from interviews conducted in the aftermath of Matthew Shepard’s death, The Laramie Project invites audiences into a community grappling with grief, identity, and the pursuit of understanding. This production created space for reflection, dialogue, and connection both on and off the stage.
We are deeply grateful to our cast, creative team, and community partners, especially PFLAG Springfield/SWMO, for helping bring this story to life and fostering meaningful conversation within our community.
PFLAG Springfield/SWMO builds community in order to deliver on our mission to create a caring, just, and affirming world for LGBTQ+ people and those who love them, and our vision of an equitable, inclusive world where every LGBTQ+ person is safe, celebrated, empowered, and loved. We are building this better world together – through support, education, and advocacy. PFLAG Springfield/SWMO is thrilled to partner with Hightide Theatrical to help tell Matthew’s story as we work to create a world where he would still be with us.
Community Impact
This production was part of High Tide’s ongoing commitment to inclusive storytelling and community engagement. Through post-show conversations and community partnerships, The Laramie Project extended beyond the stage to create space for dialogue, education, and reflection.
