Looking Ahead: Charting the Course for High Tide Theatrical’s 2026 Season
This my second year cultivating a new season at High Tide Theatrical, and I found myself coming back to the same question: What stories does our community need right now? As we worked together to build our 2026 season, that question shaped every conversation amongst the High Tide Staff.
Next year, we are leaning intentionally into stories that explore resilience, identity, and community. The pieces we’ve selected center on ordinary people facing extraordinary circumstances—moments where truth collides with tradition, where humor sits right beside heartbreak, and where individuals are asked to dig deep into who they are and what they stand for. Across the season, you’ll see themes of chosen family, the consequences of silence, and the beauty of vulnerability.
As always, our goal is to spark conversation. We want audiences to leave the theatre changed—not because we gave them answers, but because the stories created space for reflection. This season embraces risk, celebrates the incredible artists in the greater Springfield community, and continues to push High Tide toward bold, intimate, and necessary storytelling.
And today marks the first step.
Later this afternoon, we’ll be announcing the first title in our 2026 lineup. It’s a piece rooted deeply in community, dialogue, and truth. It’s powerful. It’s human. And we believe it’s the perfect way to begin the journey of this new season.
Of course, a season like this can only happen with the support of the community we serve. If you believe in the work we’re doing, we invite you to help us bring these stories to life. You can become a Rising Tide Society Member, join us as a sponsor, make a one-time financial contribution, or volunteer your time—whether at our Volunteer Workdays or as part of our Front of House team for each production. Every contribution, large or small, lifts this work higher and helps High Tide continue to grow.
Keep an eye on our socials for the official reveal. This is just the beginning of a year designed to challenge, uplift, and connect. We cannot wait to share it with you!
