Show Reveal: Our First Production of 2026

High Tide Theatrical and PFLAG of Springfield/SWMO are proud to announce the first show of our 2026 season: The Laramie Project, a groundbreaking documentary play by Moisés Kaufman and members of the Tectonic Theater Project.

One of the most powerful works in modern American theatre, The Laramie Project chronicles the community of Laramie, Wyoming in the aftermath of the 1998 murder of Matthew Shepard. Through firsthand interviews, journal entries, and collected testimony, the play weaves together a portrait of a town forced to confront grief, prejudice, identity, and the urgent need for compassion.

This production embodies the core themes of our 2026 season—truth-telling, community dialogue, and the courage to face hard questions. More than 25 years after the events in Laramie, the play continues to resonate with audiences across generations, challenging us to consider who we are, who we want to be, and how we care for one another.

We are honored to bring this important story to our stage and to our community.
