About the Show
The Laramie Project by Moisés Kaufman and members of the Tectonic Theater Project is one of the most powerful works of contemporary theatre. Based on the true story of the 1998 murder of Matthew Shepard, a young gay college student in Laramie, Wyoming, the play captures the community’s response to this tragedy.
The script is drawn from real interviews, court transcripts, and personal accounts, weaving together the voices of more than sixty residents. The result is a deeply human portrait of small-town America—an exploration of empathy, justice, prejudice, and the lasting consequences of hate.
This production is not fiction—it is truth. It reminds us of the devastating effects of intolerance and the enduring importance of compassion and understanding.
