SOS: Support High Tide on Giving Tuesday

Dear Patron,

We hope this letter finds you at the start of a joyous holiday season, one that was kicked off by Sarah Jenkins’ amazing performance in Every Brilliant Thing. This production, and its serendipitous final slot in our season, serves as an appropriate opportunity to fondly look back on this year’s season. From the shocking hilarity of Hand to God, where audiences gasped and laughed in equal measure at Tyrone’s unholy antics, to the electric energy of Hair, which filled the Lightroom Lounge with peace, love, and powerful harmonies, this season was a celebration of bold storytelling. Into the Woods enchanted audiences with its magical intimacy and emotional honesty, and The Rocky Horror Show capped off the year with an unrestrained spirit of joy that perfectly captured High Tide’s fearless commitment to theatre that entertains, engages, and empowers. Much like the plentiful reminders in EBT, High Tide continues to be overwhelmed by thanks and gratitude for our volunteers, our audiences, and each other.

This Giving Tuesday, we’re asking you to take an active part in the next chapter of our story. The staff at High Tide is committed to continually producing theatre that is unrelenting in entertainment, engagement, and enrichment. To pull off and produce another season of sold-out titles, our goal is to raise $19,000—funds that will go directly toward securing the production rights for next year’s season. Being able to share these rights in a timely manner, while also not draining our reserves, is an essential step for our rapidly growing organization. In order to continue to grow and remain an accessible institution that cultivates a spirit of progressive thinking, empathy, and unity, we need your help.

As we enter this crucial stage of growth, we believe informative transparency is the best way to ask for help. High Tide is a farther distance away than some may imagine in securing several foundational building blocks including but not limited to a permanent home, paying our staff full time wages, and being able to announce a season at one time before the new calendar year. We’re proud of our progress, but need everyone to be part of where we want to go. Every dollar you give helps us produce the top-notch productions that allows us to artfully break down barriers and challenge stereotypes that reflect the beautifully diverse world we live in.

We’ve already reached $6250 and are thrilled to announce the first production of our 2026 season on Giving Tuesday. We need your help to announce the reason of our season.

Join us in reaching our $19,000 goal and join us in our commitment to casting, storytelling, and community engagement that breaks down barriers and challenges stereotypes through a theatre experience that reflects the beautifully diverse world we live in.

With gratitude,

Jeffrey Mindock
