What Is College Night—and Why Do We Do It?
At High Tide Theatrical, we believe theatre should be accessible, engaging, and rooted in community. College Night is one of the ways we bring that mission to life.
So what exactly is College Night?
It’s a performance designed to welcome students into the theatre space, while still inviting the entire community to be part of the experience. Students can attend for a discounted ticket price of $15 and enjoy a complimentary popcorn, while all audience members are invited to stay after the performance for a talkback with the cast and creative team.
But College Night is about more than a discount: it’s about access, education, and connection.
Making Theatre Accessible
For many college students, cost can be a barrier to experiencing live theatre. By offering reduced ticket pricing, we aim to remove that barrier and create an entry point for young audiences to engage with the arts in a meaningful way.
We’re especially proud to extend invitations directly to students at Missouri State University, Drury University, Evangel University, and Ozarks Technical Community College… building relationships with the next generation of theatre-goers, artists, and community leaders.
Creating Space for Learning
The talkback following the performance is a key part of what makes College Night unique.
After the show, audiences are invited to stay and hear directly from the cast and creative team—asking questions, gaining insight into the production process, and engaging more deeply with the work on stage.
