JOIN OUR BOARD OF DIRECTORS

High Tide Theatrical is currently accepting applications for two vacant seats on our Board of Directors. These seats will complete partial terms ending January 1, 2027, with the opportunity to be considered for a second full two-year term.

Selected applicants should be prepared to begin board service immediately upon appointment. Because these are mid-term vacancies, new board members will be stepping directly into active governance, fundraising, committee work, and organizational support during an important season of growth for High Tide.

Board service at High Tide is both an honor and an active responsibility. Our board exists to provide governance, financial oversight, community leadership, and fundraising support for the organization. We are seeking dedicated, engaged leaders who are excited to help High Tide grow sustainably and expand its impact through bold, accessible theatre in Springfield.

Eligibility: Applicants must be 21 or older.

Monthly board meetings: Last Sunday of each month at 3:00 PM.

Questions: Contact Grace Billingsley at [email protected].

What We Ask of Our Board Members

By joining the Board of Directors, members commit to upholding the financial, legal, ethical, and strategic well-being of High Tide Theatrical. Board members are expected to:

  • Attend, prepare for, and actively participate in monthly board meetings held on the last Sunday of each month at 3:00 PM.
  • Maintain adequate attendance at board meetings, committee meetings, and major organizational events.
  • Make or secure an annual financial contribution of $1,200 in support of High Tide’s work.
  • Actively participate in fundraising, donor cultivation, sponsorship outreach, and resource development.
  • Serve on at least one committee or board-led initiative.
  • Represent High Tide positively and professionally in the community.
  • Ask thoughtful questions and participate in responsible decision-making.
  • Act in the best interests of the organization and disclose/recuse themselves when conflicts of interest arise.
  • Collaborate respectfully with staff and fellow board members.
  • Maintain confidentiality and protect the privacy of donors, staff, artists, patrons, and organizational stakeholders.
  • Follow through on commitments, including committee work, fundraising tasks, event support, and board assignments.

What Board Members Can Expect from Us

In return, High Tide Theatrical commits to:

  • Providing regular financial reports and organizational updates.
  • Sharing clear agendas, reports, and relevant materials before meetings when possible.
  • Offering opportunities for board members to engage with High Tide’s productions, artists, donors, and community partners.
  • Supporting board members with information, context, and tools needed to participate meaningfully.
  • Responding transparently to questions and working in partnership toward High Tide’s mission.

Shared Accountability

Board service requires active participation. If a board member is unable to meet attendance, contribution, confidentiality, fundraising, or committee expectations, the board chair may initiate a conversation to clarify responsibilities and determine whether continued board service is appropriate. Likewise, board members are encouraged to raise concerns when the organization, board, or staff needs additional clarity, support, or accountability.

Ready to Apply?

If you are ready to make a meaningful impact in Springfield’s arts community and help guide High Tide Theatrical’s future, we invite you to apply.
